Making Friends and Belonging
Extend-A-Family is pleased to share this unique workshop opportunity with you.
On Wednesday, February 12th we will be hosting “Making Friends and Belonging”, an interactive presentation with Genia Stephen of Good Things in Life. This will be a combination of lecture and learning from Genia through her personal stories. We will be focussing on “roles” and how roles enrich and deepen opportunities to make friends and create spaces of belonging. We will imagine and develop the next steps for our sons and daughters.
This workshop is best suited for parents with young and school aged children, although it is never too late to start.
Genia Stephen is a speaker, host of the Good Things In Life podcast, and founder of Good Things in Life which offers resources, courses and an educational and supportive membership for a community of parents who are committed to building a good, inclusive life for their children with disabilities. Genia has a sister with an intellectual disability and a son with an intellectual disability. Her mother introduced her to important ideas and thought leaders early in her life. She is a Registered Midwife, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and is currently completing her MSc in Evidence-Based Health Care at the University of Oxford.
